After years of development, testing and prototyping, Autotalks\u2019 2nd<\/sup> generation V2X solution is mass-market ready and, starting in 2019, will be implemented in new cars. To satisfy critical security demands of Autotalks\u2019 V2X<\/em> communications architecture, Athena\u2019s TeraFire\u00ae<\/sup> EC Ultra security microprocessors are embedded to authenticate each incoming packet received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As DSRC-based V2X technology develops, it is clear that one of the most important challenges, which is categorically met by Autotalks, is security. The recent notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) of the U.S. Department of Transportation also mentions that multilayer security is desired for reducing the probability of attackers\u2019 success and for mitigating potential damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
